Vice President of Financial Services


DCCS has been retained to conduct an executive search for a Vice President of Financial Services for PIH Health (www.pihhealth.org).


PIH Health is a nonprofit, regional healthcare network with three acute care hospitals, numerous outpatient medical offices, a physician foundation organization, home health, hospice care, as well as heart, cancer, digestive health, orthopedics, women’s health, and others.

PIH Health serves more than 3.7 million residents in the Los Angeles County, Orange County, and San Gabriel Valley region.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, accounting and financial/regulatory reporting and research (internal and external), oversight of annual audit, budget, and forecasting preparation, oversight and development of internal controls and procedures, daily cash management, tax compliance and Form 990 preparation, and various other financial and operational analyses.


This person will:

  • Oversee the financial system which provides budgeting, financial planning, product line analysis, decision support, and other management analytical tools.

  • Plan, coordinate, and prepare the annual capital and operating budgets. Additionally, perform all necessary financial modeling and analysis.

  • Develop and implement a monthly operating departmental budget variance reporting system for senior management.

  • Oversee the preparation of the annual OSHPD report and Medicare Cost Report.

  • Plan and Oversee the annual outside independent audit of the Company’s consolidated financial statements, employee pension plan, and all required audits for entities.

  • Interface with legal and financial advisors during bond offerings. Provide supporting financial data as requested and answer any specific financial questions. Responsible for quarterly filings for banks, bond agencies and works closely with the CFO on new financing opportunities.

  • Manage Cash and Treasury functions.

  • Instill the philosophy/attitude that all other functional departments are “customers” of the Finance Department, and that it is a primary role of Finance to Provide these areas with assistance.

  • Assist in the review of all major contracts and proposals.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Business Administration. MBA is preferred.

  • A CPA and past public accounting experience is a plus.

  • Progressive healthcare management experience, ideally with an integrated delivery network in a highly competitive, advanced managed care market.
